The American Red Cross is recruiting disaster services volunteers in the Pahoa Area. All Disaster Services training is provided free of charge.

The American Red Cross is recruiting disaster services volunteers in the Pahoa Area. All Disaster Services training is provided free of charge.

The first step for all new disaster volunteers is to fill out a Volunteer Application Form online at www.redcross.org/hawaii then take a series of basic disaster classes.

The Red Cross will contact volunteers to schedule classes.Training will be conducted at the Arts and Sciences Center, 15-1397 Homestead Road, Pahoa, Hawaii on the following dates:

• Disaster Services: An Overview, 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., June 27.

• Shelter Fundamentals, 1-5 p.m., June 27.

• Disaster Assessment Fundamentals, 9 a.m.-noon, June 28.

• Disaster Action Team Orientation, 12:30-4:30 p.m., June 28.
